Teen Advanced Scene Study

This course is an opportunity for teenagers with acting experience to further hone their craft.

They will work with instructor, Hallie Cooper-Novack for 6 weeks.

Through scene work, young actors will learn how to apply the basic principles of Stella Adler technique to their acting.

Each week, we’ll dig into a concept of the technique— backstory, given circumstances, action and objectives, emotional recall, and physicality— and discuss how to apply it to a scene.

We’ll work on how to stay present in the scene, through breath and active listening, and how to work through stage fright.

We’ll also touch on aspects of professional acting, such as auditioning, and the difference between acting in the theater and on camera. Students will be expected to meet and rehearse with their scene partner between each class presentation.

This is an in-person and online hybrid class.
